Teddie O’Keefe
Teddie spent the past 35+ years of her public relations career in community relations and promotions in a variety of successful ventures on the West and East coasts. Her industry experience is extensive and includes, among others Developers and Major Developments, Banking, Resort and Corporate Golf Clubs, Golf Destinations/Associations and Hotel properties including Casino Hotels, The Miss America Organization; and the NJ Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).
She established O’Keefe Marketing in 1988 after ten years managing The Sun, an award winning Atlantic City regional feature newspaper.. In 1998, O’Keefe Marketing merged with Smith & Company to form one of the largest full-service communication agencies in southern New Jersey.
Smith O’Keefe & Associates has served regional, national and international clients in hospitality, tourism, entertainment, sports marketing, as well as banking and major developments. As a hybrid of consultancy and the traditional marketing communications firm, Smith O’Keefe’s visionary staff optimized brand stewardship at every touch point affected by brand decisions. The agency principals transitioned the company’s operations to its senior manager in 2007 who, along with the staff, are taking their vision forward in a new age of agency-client relationships.
Teddie O’Keefe now offers her experience as a public relations consultant, including PR crisis management to clients in hospitality, tourism, golf, banking and major developments She is a nationally recognized expert in the integration of hospitality marketing and destination marketing and is a partner in both Hospitality Golf Marketing Group, LLC and Golf Profit Builders, LLC
Headquartered in the Atlantic City region of New Jersey, Teddie actively participates and/or serves on various boards and organizations for sports, hospitality and tourism, the arts, government and education. They include:
- The Atlantic City Historical Museum Board, 1998 to present
- Presently serves on the Business Advisory Board of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
- Served on board of the South Jersey Regional Theatre for 14 years
- Served on Atlantic County (NJ) Tourism Advisory Board
- Served for eight years on the Egg Harbor Township NJ Economic Development Council
In addition to consulting and marketing the golf industry, her golf and destination associations have included:
- Executive Board member of the NJ Golf Course Owners Association since 1998 to present
- Served on the Board of TLinks, the Tee-Time Reservation System for Golf Destinations on the East and Gulf Coasts – 1998-2006
- Served on the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) as a Key Leader; and has been a speaker on destination marketing at major industry meetings and conferences.
- Served as Executive Director of the Greater Atlantic City Golf Association 1995-2006
- Speaker at the NJ Governors Conference on Tourism on the subject of destination marketing and branding
- Speaker on Relationship Marketing at the 2008 GOLF INC Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona
